I am looking to sell my project in the pets space.

This website’s main focus is on attracting traffic through Facebook, but it also gets traffic from other sources like Pinterest, search etc.

I bought the website last year from an established vet in the space after the website was devastated by HCU.

I started working on it at the beginning of the year, and rebuilt the website’s model to start attracting traffic through social media.

Content

  • A website with 560 content pieces.
    • 150+ human written content pieces from scratch by an actual veterinarian.
    • 400+ AI written content pieces with human editing.

The content is a mix of informational content adapted for social media in terms of titles and style, with a mix of posts around things like rescue stories etc.

I have a fully developed system for producing both informational and rescue story type of content that leverages AI for it, which I am happy to share with the new owner.

There’s a ton of potential for further improvements for certain posts – adding more images, improving titles, thumbnails etc. I didn’t invest enough time to improve every individual post and there’s a lot that can be done here.

Facebook pages

  • 3 Facebook pages with a total of 300k likes
    • Page 1: 167k likes.
    • Page 2: 76k likes.
    • Page 3: 53k likes.

Page 1 was acquired early this year from a person who’s been running the page for 10 years (most likes acquired organically). I bought an additional 20k likes for that page since I acquired it.

Pages 2 and 3 mostly acquired likes through ads, but there’s some organic involvement from content going viral many times.

Page like ads were targeted at US only, and were acquired for prices between $0.03 and $0.06. 80% of the audience is US based, the rest is mostly first world countries (UK, Australia etc).

Initial strategy focused almost exclusively on page growth through memes/images/videos, then transitioned to a mix of that and website content and for the last month focused entirely on traffic generation for the website.

90% status posts with a link in the first comment with about 10% of link posts.

Pinterest

There’s also a Pinterest page with 853 pins, that gets about 200k monthly views, and around 30-50 daily visits to the website.

I had VA work on it initially, posting about 10-20 pins a day for a while. We didn’t keep the momentum here, but we are getting some solid views and traffic, with a great CTR.

Monetization & Earnings

Site got accepted into Mediavine Journey about 10 days ago.

Made about $60 so far, and the website is now at around $10 RPM. Since it is still early days on the network the RPM is consistently climbing, and it should reach around $20-$25 RPM that’s average for the websites in the pets niche.

The website also has some Amazon affiliate links on certain posts but I haven’t updated the broken ones or added new ones. It has made about $20 in profit for the last 30 days.

Why am I selling it?

I am working on multiple projects, and the SaaS I am developing in the SEO space is gaining a lot of momentum.

I want to devote most of my attention to it, so I am selling a few projects that hog my time.

It’s the worst time for me to sell because it seems it’s a bit before the project is starting to bloom.

The FB pages will likely start driving a lot more consistent traffic and Pinterest is out of its sandbox with new pins gaining traction quickly.

But I just can’t find enough time to push further with it.

This project is perfect for folks who want to skip the first few months of building a website from scratch, building content, acquiring followers etc.

Asking price: I’d be happy to get anywhere between $5,000-$10,000. Obviously, the price is not based on the website’s earnings because I just monetized, and with the current trend, the website would make about $200-$300 this month.

But the website comes with additional assets like the 3 FB pages totaling 300k followers. To acquire that, even at a great price of $0.03, it would cost a buyer $9,000 in page like ads!

So I am determining my value mostly at the assets that the website comes with.

Happy to record video(s) going through website and FB analytics and provide any additional information for serious buyers, as well as reveal the URL of the website and all of the information a buyer wants to see.

Just email me at: maxwell@digitalmedialab.biz and I’ll provide additional information and answer all of your questions.

  • Listing ID: 3578
  • Business Creation Date: 2021-01-31
  • Monthly Profit: Website is just monetized, in 2 weeks it made around $70 from Mediavine Journey.
  • Monthly Visitors: 20
  • Monetization: Display Ads
    Affiliate Marketing
  • AI Content: It contains both AI-assisted content as well as human written content. All of the human written content was outsourced to a professional vet.
  • Article Count: 560
  • Expenses: Domain name renewal - $15/year
    Hosting cost - $30/year
  • Link Building: No link building done.
  • Time Requirement: About 10h-20h a week. Mostly creating content using AI and scheduling it on social media.
  • Growth Opportunities: -Extract more traffic from Facebook. I haven’t extracted nowhere near enough traffic from 300k follows.
-Continue growing Pinterest - many accounts in this niche are getting thousands of visitors a day by constantly posting on Pinterest. I have found what works and have a great CTR and a solid system, but I don’t have the time or the team to carry out consistent posting.
-Try Flipboard - I gave Flipboard a try recently and got 50 visits in one day from it. It seems it has the potential, and I found a professional to build me a bot for it to boost my content with a bot account. Didn’t start with this, but happy to pass on the contact, and share the idea on how to make this happen.
-Add/update affiliate links - Almost every post on the website has some potential to recommend a product. If the buyer adds links to these, it can see earnings from Amazon aff grow quite a bit.
-Merch - This niche is ripe for selling merch. It could be a source of some side income and it was my plan to add this monetization as well.
  • Business Assets: -Domain name/website
-3 FB pages with over 300k likes in total.
-Pinterest account with 800+ pins and 200k+ monthly impressions.

-Full content and social media strategies previously built out.
    -Content management and scheduling spreadsheet
-Every paid plugin that's already on the website (premium Kadence and Lasso aff plugin)
  • Expired Domain: No
